Pakistan's former pacer Umar Gul expressed his feeling after being named bowling coach of the national T20I team for the upcoming Afghanistan series.
Taking to Twitter, Gul wrote it's an honour for him to once again represent Pakistan at international level.
"It is an honour and privilege for me to serve my country and wear the star on my chest once again but this time as the bowling coach for the National team inshaAllah. May Allah bless the team with lots of success. Pakistan Zindabad," he mentioned.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee chairman Najam Sethi, on Tuesday, announced the national coaching staff for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan.
Sethi made the announcement from his official Twitter account. According to his announcement, Pakistan's former Test pacer Umar will be the bowling coach, ex-Test batter Mohammad Yousaf will be the batting coach whereas domestic coach Abdul Rehman will lead the coaching staff as head coach.
"PCB announces Support Personnel for Sharjah T20Is. Abdul Rehman, Head Coach; Umar Gul, Bowling Coach; M Yousuf, Batting Coach; A Majeed, Fielding Coach; Drikus Simon, Trainer; Cliffe Deacon, Physio; Talha Ijaz, Analyst; Mansoor Rana, Manager; Ahsan Nagi, Media Manager," announced Sethi.
Umar, who last played his international match in 2016, recently remained the bowling coach of Afghanistan's national team. He has also been associated with Quetta Gladiators as their bowling coach in Pakistan Super League (PSL). Rehman coached the KP team in domestic cricket and is currently associated with Multan Sultans in their coaching team.
Yousaf was part of the previous coaching panel under the supervision of head coach Saqlain Mushtaq.
